October & Halloween

This October flew by and we cannot believe it's already November! October has been so much fun with college and NFL football games (our poor dawgs have seen better days...), cooler weather, pumpkins and Halloween!!This year Aidan was a little monkey! He was ADORABLE. Especially the little feet and tail, it was so cute!

This is me and my monkey on Halloween. We spent Halloween at our friends' Ryan & Natalie (with their little baby William), where we went trick-or-treating at a nearby neighborhood and grilled out. Before we went trick-or-treating! Aidan got a lot of candy, which we ate :) FYI, I look a lot bigger in this picture than in person! I'm only 23 weeks, but this was a bad angle! Haha

Laughing!

Our little monkey!

We went to the pumpkin patch in the middle of October to pick out our pumpkins. That's Aidan with Melissa's 2 little girls Samantha & Emily (they were our flower girls at our wedding!). For pumpkins we got one for me, one for Josh, a small one for Aidan and a very tiny one for baby boy #2
Aidan discovering everything
"Can I keep this?" is what I think he said in his "Aidanese" language! That boy talks ALL THE TIME in his own little language!

He found his pumpkins!

This was Aidan LAST YEAR at Halloween! The time seriously goes by so fast! He has grown so much and he is just so much fun. He's about to walk (he can take 5 to 10 steps by himself and then he crawls) and he's a little talker. Talk, talk, talk....talking about everything. This was a great Halloween, and we think he had fun trick-or-treating. Next year he'll have a blast because he'll really "get" it! Hope y'all had a Happy Halloween! Now it's time to decorate for Christmas! :)

Aidan in ONE!!

I know that I'm a month late posting this....we've been busy! My baby turned ONE on September 20th and we had a great party with family at our house. It was a "Little Einsteins" party since that is Aidan's favorite TV show, and his favorite thing to say is, "BLAST OFF!" when the rocket blasts off every episode. It's so cute! He even puts his hands up in the air for the full effect :)

Everyone came (even though it was raining cats & dogs....which ended up flooding many parts of Georgia!) and our house was packed with people and gifts. Aidan had so much fun and was so happy, which isn't anything new....he's the happiest baby ever (we're hoping that his baby brother will be just as happy for our sake!:)

This is Aidan's cake for all the adults. I love that picture....it was on his invitations too :)Food table in the dining room....and yes I'm pretty sure I may have gone way overboard for a one year olds birthday party, but he's my FIRST baby and this was his FIRST birthday ever! So I felt that it deserved a full out party :)
Where the mess begins
I know that there are 3 cakes! I had already ordered Aidan's "Little Einsteins" cake and when I went to order the big cake for everyone to eat I didn't know that Publix gives you a free baby cake!
Aidan's really cute "Little Einstein" cake with the rocket! I got it from Gabriel's Bakery and it was soooo good (we ended up finishing off the parts he didn't eat!)
Singing "Happy Birthday!" He had a pre-run the Friday before at Mike's parents house since they couldn't come (Faye & Robert) and he totally freaked out and cried when we sang....maybe it was our singing! But for the real thing he was great!

Digging into the cake! At first he kinda hovered over the cake as if he was deciding if he should touch it...but once he started destroying and eating it, it came natural :)

Saying "BLAST OFF!"
He was a gooey mess, so we had a quick, emergency bath afterwards!
Opening the thousands of gifts....it definitely pays off to be the first Grandchild on both sides!
Reading a card and opening a gift. Aidan loved opening the presents!

So happy

Eating the card....that was one of his favorite things to do

That ball has now been destroyed by Herschel....the larger red one was destroyed too.
Laughing baby!
He LOVES his red race truck....thank you Grandma Lucy!! He pushes that thing around EVERYWHERE and then he'll sit on it and wait for someone to push him around! We have now taken that thing everywhere we go :)

Pushing his Lion! He's basically walking now....he can take 5 steps by himself and then he'll sit and crawl. He's changing and growing up so fast.
View from our balcony.....lots of presents, toys and family! Great day!
It looks like we just had Christmas! I'm nervous what that will actually look like after his party!

This past year FLEW by and we cannot believe that our little angel baby is already ONE. It has been so much fun watching him grow, learn and develop his precious little personality! He is truly an extremely happy baby and he has been so easy. He laughs at everything and only cries when he's tired or hungry. He really is our little angel and we cannot wait to see him grow in the years to come....but I don't want them to come too fast because I'm trying to take it all in and it's all going by so fast!

video
This is the cutest video of Aidan cracking up as Josh and Herschel play with a balloon from his party! It makes me laugh every time I watch it! It truly is the best sound on earth :)

June Surprise....We're PREGNANT!

We had a great BIG SURPRISE at the end of June....we found out that we're PREGNANT! Yep, I am now over the shock, but it took me a few weeks! We weren't trying, so this was a little shocking at first (more for me than Josh, he's been extremely happy from the time he walked out of the bathroom telling me the test was positive), but we're both extremely excited. We wanted our kids to be close in age, so now they're going to be 18 months (a year and a half) apart. I'm hoping they'll be good friends and play with each other a lot. I'm 10 weeks and we're expecting baby #2 to be here the 4th of March, 2010.

We told our parents by having Aidan wear a t-shirt that said, "Guess what I just found out? I'm going to be a BIG BROTHER!" It was so cute and it was a fun way to have them find out. Both of our parents were extremely happy to find out they'll have another Grandchild!

4th of July + Birthday Weekend

July 4th weekend is always extremely fun and busy for us because Josh's birthday is July 3 and my birthday is July 6th. This year was more fun than usual because it was our first 4th of July with Aidan! We spent Josh's birthday (July 3rd) at the lake with our friends and his parents, we spent 4th of July at the lake with both of our parents, and we spend the 5th at my parents house and pool where we celebrated my birthday a day early. Fun weekend!Aidan is crawling and pulling up on everything. This picture cracks me up because he was SO proud of himself for looking out the window!

Myrtle Beach! June '09

The last weekend of June we all went up to Myrtle Beach, SC to visit our friend Wes. It was such a great weekend! My best friend Laurie went with us and we all had a great time. Wes lives in a condo that is located in a 4 star hotel, so we had full access to the pool, beach and great restaurants. He had a great view of a river going into the ocean from his balcony and his condo was really nice....he definitely has it made! This was also Aidan's first time seeing the ocean.

Josh, Aidan and Wesley
Josh and Wes going golfing on Saturday. It was great that they went golfing because Laurie and I went to the outlet malls that were 5 minutes from his condo....that would be SO dangerous if I lived there! It was fun, we got great deals at Banana Republic and Baby Gap, and then came back to catch some rays by the pool.
Me and baby boy about to go swimming
The pool was so nice and it was soooo hot outside!

After golf the guys joined us....by this time Aidan is out

On Wes's balcony....we definitely want to go back and visit again soon!
At the beach!

About to feel the ocean for the first time!
"Gear Up" Baby! Everytime the water came up he'd pull his legs up!

Big wave! He loved the ocean....wasn't a huge fan of the sand though.

Laurie watching him while Josh and I swam....it was so nice that Laurie and Wes helped out so much!
The ocean and the sun wore him out.
We discovered that changing a mobile baby at the beach is sandy and hard :)
Josh pushing Aidan around at the pool to get him to fall asleep. I love this picture....I think it's so cute! Josh is such an awesome dad.
Aidan looking at his mommy through the mesh of his stroller! He was asking me to get him out!
In the pool!
Family!
This was take 1 of 1000 with the automatic timer on the camera!
We moved it inside to get a better picture. This was take 1000.
Last night at Myrtle Beach at a great little seafood restaurant! Aidan was an angel throughout the whole trip and it was so much fun to take him to the beach! He loved it! We can't wait to go back. Thanks Wes!

I can sew now!

My mom and I spent the last couple of weeks down in her basement sewing all of these valences for my house. Last year I found fabric and got a price quote for how much it would be to have 4 valences made, and the labor to make them was insane! So, I always had wanted to learn how to sew so I got my mom to teach me. It was so much fun! We did everything, from sewing the fabric onto the piping, to cutting everything out, to sewing everything together! I have to say that I'm pretty impressed with our sewing capabilities! Here are the two big valences in my kitchen nook.
The other two valences go over my door to the deck, and over the last window on the end.
I LOVE the knobs!
I have a new respect for fabric and sewing. I also learned very quickly why they charge an arm and a leg for labor to make valences!

It was a great experience! I now officially can sew, and I really love it! Our next project is to make drapes for my dining room and make drapes and valences for my mom & dad's bedroom. I'm excited to start sewing again!
