Aidan is 3 months!
On December 20, 2o08 Aidan turned 3 months! We can't believe how fast the time has gone by and how big our baby boy is getting! Things have been really great. Aidan now sleeps on average about 8 hours a night, sometimes 12!! We love that he's a big sleeper like his mommy and daddy! He still sleeps in his bassinet next to our bed, but we're thinking that we'll start to transition him into his nursery in the next few months since he sleeps so good. He's also smiling and laughing a lot! It's the most amazing thing in the world to see my baby boy smile at me...it melts my heart! He's starting to turn over and he is VERY attentive. His little eyes will follow me around the room! He loves having conversations with his little doggie and with us when we change his diaper. He also loves to drool and blow bubbles all over my shirt :) He's absolutely amazing and it has been so much fun to see him grow!
This is my favorite picture. I was taking pictures of Aidan when Herschel ran into the room and started to lick & kiss Aidan. He loves his big brother Herschel. He doesn't mind at all getting tons of slober in his face and Herschel is extremely gentle with him.
This picture cracks me up! Herschel was being so sweet, but Aidan was done with the photo shoot! :)
My beautiful baby! He has his Daddy's pretty green eyes...but he has my eye shape.
Smiling!
I love this picture too. He's my little angel.
Every night Aidan falls asleep while I rock him. He always scrunches into a little tiny ball! I know when he's totally out when his whole little body becomes extremely limp. He's so cute :)
The miracle car seat. This is how I get him to sleep for 8 hours in a row! He falls asleep on my shoulder and then I carefully place him in his car seat in the bassinet...and voila! He's asleep for hours!!
Aidan in his cute Reindeer Christmas pjs.
Happy baby!
Aidan LOVES FOOTBALL!! He'll stare at the tv forever when football is on!! He's already an official Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Falcon fan! It must be all the colors and movement that he loves....but it's sooo cute! This is Aidan and Daddy watching the Falcons!

Angel Baby
Aidan's starting to focus on faces and things, and he's also cooing and making cute baby sounds a lot! He loves when I change his diaper, mainly because he loves to be naked!

Aidan is 1 month!
I can't belive that Aidan is already 4 weeks old. It feels like it flew by and at the same time it feels like it was an eternity! The first few weeks were a little rough (no sleep, I had no IDEA what I was doing, breastfeeding took a while to get used to and hungry babies don't like to wait, I felt fat and mushy, did I mention NO SLEEP?), but now everything is feeling like second nature. I can change a diaper in 2 seconds now instead of 2 mintues (for those of you who have had little boys, you KNOW that if it takes you 2 minutes to change a diaper, by the time you have that new clean diaper on he has peed on himself and probably his face...which results in another bath). He's gone to the mall a few times already (I might as well take advantage now because in a few years he's going to hate the mall!) and he's great when we go out and eat. We've even left him a few times with family while we either ran errands or went out (I'm SO glad I have 2 great families that help out all the time. It's so nice to have them to watch Aidan while I either sleep or get things done!).
After bathtime he loves his little robe and slippers! He's gotten a lot better with baths now that we bathe him in the sink. His bath has this neat temperature gage that tells me when the water is the perfect warmth, and it always filters out the water so he's constantly getting warm water. Much better than the cold sponge baths he got during his first 2 weeks!
Nana holding her Grandson! He loves his Nana!
He'll usually scream when we first put him in his carseat, but the minute you pick him up he's happy. And the car is a blessing because he always falls asleep! He's GREAT when we take him out places, he just sleeps in his little carseat. The first 2 weeks were really rough because he would sleep for about an hour or sometimes an hour and a half if we were lucky and then he'd wake up. I finally decided to put him in his carseat and put the carseat in his bassinet next to me to see if he'd sleep longer and it WORKED! He now sleeps about 4 to 5 hours at a time at night! It has helped me out so much. It's amazing how much better I feel by just getting 2 to 3 more hours of non-interupted sleep! (I used to need at least 8 hours of sleep...now if I get 4 I feel like a million bucks. Welcome to motherhood!)
Such a sweet angel!

Aidan hated his first few baths...he would scream his little lungs out! It wore him out and made him really tired, so we'd put on his little slippers (and sometimes his robe) and he'd be out for a good hour or so!

He's changed so much during these past 4 weeks! He's losing his hair (we call him an "old man" because he's losing it on top of his head right now!), so we're excited to see what color his hair grows back in. He's also gained 2 lbs and grown 2 inches! He changes everyday. He's amazing...motherhood is amazing. I love all the little moments we have with him, especially when Josh holds him...it melts my heart! He's our precious little angel and God has really blessed us!

Aidan Joshua Dupree - Born 9/20/2008
Aidan Joshua Dupree is finally here! He was born September 20, 2008 at 12:57pm at 7 pounds 12 ounces and was 19.3" long.

Us right before our precious baby boy was born!

On Friday, September 19, Josh and I went to our Doctor's appointment only to find out that my amniotic fluid was dangerously low and they needed to induce me. We were a little shocked that we were going to have a baby either that night or the next day! I was nervous that I wasn't going to dialate (I was only at a 1 when I went to the Doctor that afternoon) and that I was going to have to have a C-Section, but everything went perfectly. I was admitted into the hospital Friday night and they gave me Cervidil to get my contractions going. It worked and then they put me on Pitocin around 1 in the morning. My contractions got closer together and stronger (thank God for the epidural!! I was going to try to go as natural as I could, but my contractions were extremely intense....the epidural was great!) and by noon the next day my midwife told me I was at a 10 and ready to push. I loved the epidural not only because I could sleep most of the time, but I could feel the contractions only they didn't hurt...it just felt like a LOT of pressure. So I was really glad I could feel to push. The delivery couldn't have gone better and it was really an intimate and AMAZING moment for me and Josh.
The Grandma's! Right after Aidan was born a nurse came up to Josh saying that she has seen 2 blonde ladies that keep on passing by the door...they were really excited to see their first Grandson.

His going home outfit! It was WAY too big for him, especially the shoes, but it was too cute. He still can't really fit into his newborn clothes (only the really small, skinny ones fit right now) but once he fattens up a little I can't wait to dress him in all of his adorable clothes.
His first car ride in his carseat! He really likes the car and doesn't really cry. It's amazing how small he is.
Aidan's first bath at home. He had a little peeing accident so we had to wash him off! He didn't mind it too bad...there was some heart wrenching screaming but once we had him all wrapped up he was a lot happier.
This swing is our saving grace for the most part. It vibrates, swings and plays womb sounds or hooks up the an iPod. We have used this a lot around 3am when a little someone refuses to go to sleep. We wish they made this in adult size!

Us at home with Aidan. The first week was full of unimaginable amounts of diapers (we feel that the minute we change one diaper, it's dirty in the next 30 seconds...and it's amazing how many times he tries to pee on his little face! :), not much sleep, lots of rocking and swinging, and LOTS of feeding. Being parents is amazing....we're still getting used to the fact that we made this little thing (well, God created him and did a really good job!).

The Grandparents and Aidan! They both come over and see him every other day. If it wasn't for our great parents, the first week home would have been a LOT harder and we probably would have starved. :)
