Roman Thomas Dupree

Birth Story:
Absolutely nothing was happening up until 3 hours before Roman was born. His original due date was Tuesday, March 2 and I had not had one contraction and I really wasn't dilating. On Monday, March 1st I started to feel some light contractions during the day, but I was able to clean our whole house and then I went and ran some errands with Aidan in the afternoon. We got home around 6pm and went for a small walk, and by then I could feel the contractions a little more...but it still wasn't anything to talk about. By 7 Aidan was asleep and Josh and I ate dinner and my contractions were about 10 min. apart. Josh really wanted to go to the hospital, but for some reason I just had it in my head that this was just "false labor" and nothing to worry about! I decided to take a shower just in case I went into labor in the middle of the night (and because I DID NOT want to have greasy hair after delivering a baby! :) and right when I got out my water broke! That was about 8:20pm. I still felt great so I finished drying my hair, put on some makeup and finished packing my bag. By the time Josh's mom got to our house to watch Aidan (this was 20 min. later) my contractions were about 4 min. apart and I was definitely feeling them! They came on like a freight train.....I felt like I went from 0 to 60 in 10 seconds! I seriously didn't think I'd make it to the hospital. When we got to the hospital my contractions were 2 min. apart and I barely had time for a slight epidural (thank God...once that miracle drug kicked in I felt SO much better!!) and then 30 min. later and a few pushes and Roman Thomas was born!!

Roman was born on March 1st at 10:57pm weighing 7 lbs 5 oz and was 19.5" long! It was such an easy and extremely fast labor. If we have a third baby I'll have to camp out in the hospital parking lot :)

Nana and Pappy came to see their second Grandchild right after he was born! This was when he was about 30 minutes old (it was also 11:30pm and they both had to wake up in 5 hours :).

Grandma Cathy and Roman :)
Grandpa and Roman. Mike and Cathy took care of Aidan and Herschel while we were in the hospital, which is NOT an easy task! They are both a handful :)
Sweet baby boy. He looks so much like Josh to me....and he reminds me of Aidan as a baby :)
First picture as a family of 4!!
Right before we left the hospital. I LOVED his going home outfit!
Proud Daddy!
He has extremely long toes and fingers like his Mommy!
Aidan LOVES his little brother. When we got home he kept on trying to put his pacy in his mouth for him.
This is Aidan's attempt to put the pacy back in Roman's mouth! Too cute.

Aidan, Samantha, Aunt Emily and little Em
Brothers! It's amazing how fast the time goes by....it's hard to remember Aidan that small and that was only 17 months ago! I love having a newborn again. And Aidan has done such a great job adjusting to Roman....he says, "Hello Baby" (except "baby" comes out as "bobby") and he gives him hugs and kisses. It's so cute to see them together.
Giving Roman kisses :)
Aunt Shelley!

Uncle Tommy and Marissa

This is a sneak peek of the newborn pictures we had done of Roman and Aidan! They turned out SO CUTE! We cannot wait to see the rest!

Overall, I personally think that going from 1 baby to 2 babies is a whole lot easier than going from 0 babies to 1! Aidan keeps me so busy that so far adding Roman in the mix hasn't been near as hard as I was expecting. I also have an amazing husband that helps out SO MUCH....so as long as I can survive until he gets home....I'm good! Roman is 2 weeks now and we've all adjusted really well! The hardest part is the whole "not sleeping" a consecutive 6 hours...but I'm hoping that we only have a few more weeks of that. Wishful thinking?! :)
