Pink, and lots of it! Saylor's Room

Saylor Catherine's Room!  I knew if I ever had a girl I was going to do pink, and lots of it :)  Weirdly enough, I couldn't find ANYTHING that I liked for bedding, so I decided to make it all myself so I could customize it exactly how I had it pictured in my mind.
I sewed the valances (there are 4 different contrasting fabrics that I fell in love with), the crib bumpers, the ruffle crib skirt, and the blanket (my awesome friend Cynthia embroidered the blanket for me).
And, as always, I get a little nesting crazy when I'm pregnant, so I went ahead and painted the tree, made fabric flowers and made her hanging initials.  Pinterest came in very handy!

When Aidan was a baby he had the sleepy bear that made soothing noises, which he still sleeps with and calls his "Bo." Roman had a sleepy sheep that made soothing noises that he loves (although he loves his blankie much more), and now Saylor will have a sleepy giraffe that makes soothing noises :)

My fabric flowers!  I did them out of burlap (to match her lamp and the background of her initial letters) and the fabric used in all of her things.  The butterflys were from my first baby shower (http://joshandjolynndupree.blogspot.com/2011/12/saylors-baby-shower.html)
The bird painting in the hutch I painted at Corkscrews & Canvases with some friends back in the summer! I was only a few weeks pregnant but I decided to do pink because I knew if I was having a girl I'd love to do the bird/butterfly/tree theme.
I made some more flowers for her burlap lamp shade.
Of course I had to have a chandelier in our baby girl's room!  Josh was really excited about putting that up ;)  I also had the glider reupholstered in one of the contrasting fabrics (that I did not do myself!  I ran out of steam ;)
I don't know if you can really tell, but we put up paintable wallpaper on the bottom portion of the wall and painted it pink.  It's a damask print that added texture to the room.  Josh told me he wasn't going to paint stripes again, so he hung wallpaper and painted it!  I think he'd rather do stripes over wallpaper :)
Her valances.  I love sewing valances...they're so fun and make a room look so good.

Bows & lots of clothes!  I can't wait to dress her up in her cute little dresses and bows :)

THE BOYS' ROOM
I never posted these pics from a long time ago when we put the boys in a room together.  They started rooming together back in the summer and LOVE it.
Roman's infamous crib tent (this is #2...still going strong)
Aidan loves his big boy bed.  Roman desperately wants a big boy bed, but we have to get past the 2's crazy stage before that's going to happen.  It's bad enough we had to reverse the locks on their door and put him in a crib tent!

 Aidan's blanket I made...
and Romie's.  They love their blankets :)

Aidan's a BIG BOY!

We finally did it...Aidan is officially POTTY TRAINED!  We have been "potty training" since he turned 3, but we used pull-ups, which was a huge mistake.  He liked to pull them down & up, but they absorb just like a diaper so he was constantly having accidents in them because they didn't make him uncomfortable (we had tried plain underwear back in September and that was a nightmare too...he just wasn't ready!).  But, we have turned a corner...we put him in big boy underwear (Mickey Mouse & Thomas the Train because they're cool), and he barely had ANY accidents!  After a week, he was a champ :)
Aidan holding his "potty treat" jar!  Every time he went potty he got to put a pom pom ball in the jar, and if he told us he had to go then he got to put 2 pom pom balls in the jar...once it was filled up he got to choose a place for lunch and a movie!
 He's so proud!
The pom pom jar.  Worked better that M&Ms or anything else!  Last Saturday, February 4, 2012 we dropped Roman off at Grandma & Grandpa's house and we took Aidan to Johnny's pizza for lunch and then we saw Beauty and the Beast 3D!  He LOVED the movie (it was his first one!) and we stayed for the whole thing.  He also went potty twice during the movie :)  Yay Aidan!

Baby Saylor's Sweet Shower

I am so very blessed with friends!  On Friday, January 13, 2012 my cousin Bethany & sweet friend Cynthia threw Saylor an amazing baby shower at The Dogwood Terrace Restaurant in downtown Acworth.
Cynthia is known for her AMAZING cupcakes! (http://cooleycupcakery.com/)
My mom and my mom-in-law....I love them so much!!  Saylor's middle name is Catherine after my two awesome moms :)
Me and the hostess with the mostess :)
Me and one of my best friends in the world...Roxanne!  We're both preggers and due around the same time with our 3rd baby.  Roxanne actually had her baby boy, Crew Harrison, on January 25, 2012 7 lbs 10 oz and 3 weeks early! He's so cute :)

Haha, our big bellies! Saylor & Crew will be best buds :)
Saylor got some amazing gifts.  This was so cute!
 Josh's favorite....GO DAWGS!
I'm slightly obsessed with all the hairbows I've accumulated!
And now she has a super cute hairbow holder!  This thing is packed down with A TON of hairbows right now :)
The best friends & family in the world.
Cynthia, Christina, me & Bethany

Saylor has been very blessed....with her being my 3rd baby I really didn't expect showers at all and I ended up getting 3!  The third shower was January 29, 2012 with a group of ladies from our church, Sanctuary in Him.  All of my showers were over-the-top and amazing and it is so awesome to celebrate Saylor's life with those closest to me!  I'm so thankful and I realize how blessed I am to have all of these wonderful people in my life.  God is GOOD :)

2 Little Monkeys went to the Zoo

On December 31, 2011 we took the boys to the zoo and they LOVED it!  It turned out to be a really beautiful day (I had bought tickets off Groupon and they expired on the 31st, which is why we went!), and with our 2 high energy boys, we saw the whole zoo in about 30 minutes....pretty sure we ran everywhere.
 These boys love trains
Aidan insisted that he wore his mittens even though it was about 60 degrees out :)
Ohhh Romie....don't know if you can tell, but Josh has a hold of him by his hood because he wanted to sprint everywhere!
My sweet boys...and an outline of our soon-to-arrive daughter!  8 months pregnant with sweet Saylor
I LOVE being a mom.  It's the best job in the world...hardest too.  I now see clearly what my mom meant when she'd say, "I'm not the maid around here," "Do you have any idea how fast everything adds up?" or how she truly meant it when she says, "I love you."
 My sweet Roman...he is a mini-Josh
Kangaroos!  Aidan calls them "Joeys" thanks to The Little Einsteins
 Best friends
Don't know if you can tell, but there's a mama tiger laying down and her baby is laying to the right of the picture.  When we walked up she was roaring and that really excited the boys!

Daddy & his boys....he's such an amazing dad

 Aidan loved the elephants!

 Sweet Aidan :)
 Watching the Lion nap
You have to be in shape to haul/chase/keep up with 2 boys under 3 1/2 :)

Roman wanted "down" into the giraffe den
 Aidan's a baby lion! :)
Aidan was our "navigator" and would point out on the map where we should go next!  This was a rare picture with them both in the stroller....the only time they were in the stroller was coming into the park and leaving :)

It was a really fun day as a family and the boys really loved it!  We went out to dinner at Outback and the boys were passed out by 9, so we got to drink sparkling apple cider and watch the peach drop with our good friends Steve & Sarah.  Perfect way to end 2011 and bring in 2012.  We're thankful for all God has done in 2011 and give Him all the praise!  We've grown a lot in Him this past year (not all of it was fun, but God doesn't promise an easy life, He promises He'll never leave you and that He is faithful).  We've also grown by being His hands & feet on our mission trip this past summer. We are already amazed at all of God's blessings and we can't wait to meet our special blessing in February of 2012.  God is good :)
