Aidan Joshua Dupree - Born 9/20/2008
Aidan Joshua Dupree is finally here! He was born September 20, 2008 at 12:57pm at 7 pounds 12 ounces and was 19.3" long.

Us right before our precious baby boy was born!

On Friday, September 19, Josh and I went to our Doctor's appointment only to find out that my amniotic fluid was dangerously low and they needed to induce me. We were a little shocked that we were going to have a baby either that night or the next day! I was nervous that I wasn't going to dialate (I was only at a 1 when I went to the Doctor that afternoon) and that I was going to have to have a C-Section, but everything went perfectly. I was admitted into the hospital Friday night and they gave me Cervidil to get my contractions going. It worked and then they put me on Pitocin around 1 in the morning. My contractions got closer together and stronger (thank God for the epidural!! I was going to try to go as natural as I could, but my contractions were extremely intense....the epidural was great!) and by noon the next day my midwife told me I was at a 10 and ready to push. I loved the epidural not only because I could sleep most of the time, but I could feel the contractions only they didn't hurt...it just felt like a LOT of pressure. So I was really glad I could feel to push. The delivery couldn't have gone better and it was really an intimate and AMAZING moment for me and Josh.
The Grandma's! Right after Aidan was born a nurse came up to Josh saying that she has seen 2 blonde ladies that keep on passing by the door...they were really excited to see their first Grandson.

His going home outfit! It was WAY too big for him, especially the shoes, but it was too cute. He still can't really fit into his newborn clothes (only the really small, skinny ones fit right now) but once he fattens up a little I can't wait to dress him in all of his adorable clothes.
His first car ride in his carseat! He really likes the car and doesn't really cry. It's amazing how small he is.
Aidan's first bath at home. He had a little peeing accident so we had to wash him off! He didn't mind it too bad...there was some heart wrenching screaming but once we had him all wrapped up he was a lot happier.
This swing is our saving grace for the most part. It vibrates, swings and plays womb sounds or hooks up the an iPod. We have used this a lot around 3am when a little someone refuses to go to sleep. We wish they made this in adult size!

Us at home with Aidan. The first week was full of unimaginable amounts of diapers (we feel that the minute we change one diaper, it's dirty in the next 30 seconds...and it's amazing how many times he tries to pee on his little face! :), not much sleep, lots of rocking and swinging, and LOTS of feeding. Being parents is amazing....we're still getting used to the fact that we made this little thing (well, God created him and did a really good job!).

The Grandparents and Aidan! They both come over and see him every other day. If it wasn't for our great parents, the first week home would have been a LOT harder and we probably would have starved. :)

Please come soon!!
Well, the countdown is basically over...tomorrow is Aidan's due date (September 16, 2008). Now it's just the waiting game, which I'm not good at! Here's a picture of me a few days ago, huge in all my glory!

I'm definitely ready for him to be here. I am absolutely huge and I am ready to be able to see my feet again, yet alone put on my own shoes and tie them! I'm also ready to have my body back and wear real clothes...I can't wait to get rid of ALL my maternity clothes! I feel that I wear the same thing over and over, and near the end of pregnancy when I am so huge only a few things fit! Finding something to wear is so frustrating sometimes (Josh steers clear of me during that time!).
We're also really excited to finally meet our little boy. It kinda feels like I'm going to be pregnant forever and that he's never going to come...so I know when he does it'll be surreal. Hopefully he'll come this week! I can't believe that 9 months is already over and in a week or so we'll be parents! :)
