This year for Memorial Day we had both sides of our family up at the lake house for a cookout and lake fun! It was so great to be able to spend the whole day together.
The "Cathy's" in the kitchen! This picture makes me laugh :)
The men grilling out
Aidan and Roman found a new fun game with Seesha and Uncle Tommy...it's called "throw me as high as you can onto the couch"
This game went on for about 30 minutes!
Good ol' American hamburgers and hotdogs for Memorial Day
Seesha and the boys playing "patty cake, patty cake, bakers man"
Roman wasn't a huge fan of the water (not yet anyway!), but he LOVED pushing people in!
Aidan, on the other hand, swam, jumped off the "yacht" and tubed for about 8 hours straight!
Sunbathing on the Yacht
Aidan surprised all of us when he wanted to jump off the top of the yacht into the water! It's a good 10 foot jump! At first he went with Daddy...
and loved it! Eventually he was jumping off all by himself!
Tommy jumping...
Mike diving...
Romie watching...
and "Biggie" jumping off by himself! He's a little dare devil when it comes to water sports! He'll be wakeboarding, surfing and skiing by the end of summer! We can already check tubing off the list :)
My sweet Romie! Cathy Dupree was up at the cabin with Saylor while she napped...but she really didn't want to see everyone jumping off the yacht because it freaks her out! :)
Take 1: Normal
Take 2: Abnormal haha! I LOVE THIS PICTURE!!
Uncle Tommy, Aidan, me, Seesha & my hubby all about to jump off the yacht
Nana and her mini-me :)
I love my sweet Aidan
Pappy and Aidan swimming during our boat ride! Aidan liked when Pappy would throw him!
I. LOVE. THAT. SWEET. FACE!
Could she be any cuter? It's so fun having a girl!
Let the tubing begin! This is tube ride #2 for the day. Aidan was a swimming/tubing MACHINE.
Bethany!
Kyle & Bethany made it up for the last part of the day after they both got off work!
We had an awesome day as a big family and I loved every second. I am so thankful that both sides of my family love hanging out with each other! It's so fun to get everyone together (the only person missing was Emily, who was in NYC with friends), and we had a great time swimming and playing on the boat. Aidan will be flipping on a wakeboard soon haha! Roman warmed up to it at the end, and I'm sure by the end of summer he'll be right up there with Biggie! But most of all, I am so appreicative and thankful for all the men and women who gave up their lives and sacrificed SO MUCH for the freedom of our country. We live in a blessed....and I mean blessed....nation and that wouldn't be the case if we didn't have honorable men and women fighting for us and protecting us. We owe them AND their families so much more than we can give. God is so good, so faithful, and so worth ALL THE GLORY!
