Major Summer Update...

BAPTISM IN OUR BACKYARD
We usually have our small group Bible study every Monday night, and we switch around who's house we are meeting.  On May 31, 2011 we had small group at our house and our close friends, Brandon & Erin Mims, asked, "who wants to dunk some Methodists?"   :)  So, we had our first baptism in our backyard in Lake Allatoona.  It was amazing.  Especially since our group has been together for a year and we've all grown so close to each other, so it was so incredible to witness them making a public statement to live their lives for Jesus Christ.  I love our group!

SEWING PROJECTS
I've made a few blankets this year, but this was my favorite girl blanket for my cousin Jacqueline.  She's having baby Avery in September, so I made this for her and gave it to her when we saw everyone in Seattle for her sister Leslie's wedding.  It was so fun to sew pink things!

SEATTLE FOR LESLIE & BRETT'S WEDDING!  6-18-11
This was our second out of town wedding this summer (our first was for Angela & Andrew Marino in Charleston, SC...but we forgot our camera and didn't take any pictures!).  It was SO much fun to have another family reunion and celebrate the marriage of Leslie and Brett.
Walking around downtown Seattle.  It's beautiful there!  It'd be perfect if it didn't rain all the time :)
 Bethany is really cool...
We did the Underground Tour with Grandma Lucy & most of the cousins.  It was really cool.  They really have a real underground downtown where the original city of Seattle was founded on.  They ended up building it up, but this is a picture of the "sky lights" that gave light to the underground.
This is the "sky lights" on the sidewalk where the city now it located.
We HAD to take a picture of Josh next to the original underground toilets!  I mean come on...he's a plumber :)

FATHER'S DAY COOKOUT AT THE DUPREE'S
Since this summer has been crazy, we never celebrated Father's Day.  So, we had a little late Father's Day celebration...actually it was mainly just to get everyone together for fun...at our house on June 25, 2011.

Okay, so after the parents left that night we all stayed up late playing Mafia (the best game ever!), and then when we grew bored with that we resorted to braids!  This was Bethany's work...corn rows look good on Josh :)

JOSH'S SURPRISE 30TH BIRTHDAY PARTY!!
I threw Josh a great suprise birthday party this year for his 30th birthday! I was pretty impressed with myself to be able to organize AND keep a secret for that long! Josh is impossible to surprise, but I finally pulled one over on him!  This was on Saturday, July 2, 2011.
Front of the invitation.  It was a 4th of July theme since his birthday is July 3rd.
Back of the invitation :)
I had his party at The Old Mill Restaurant in Acworth, Georgia and it was the perfect place.  We had the whole outdoor patio to ourselves and the way it was setup was perfect.  It was a screened in porch, but you could lift the screens to open them up.  Everyone got there before we did (I still cannot believe that every single person was there early!  We have awesome friends!), so it was a good 30 people to surprise him!

As we walked up to the restaurant, Josh was just casually talking to me when everyone jumped up from the screened porch (it faces the parking lot area on one side) and yelled, "SURPRISE!!"

So proud that I finally got him!

 Birthday boy!

His birthday cake! It was chocolate with chocolate fudge icing on the bottom, and strawberry with cream cheese icing on the top :) Delicious!

JOSH'S BIRTHDAY AT GRANDMAMA'S
We celebrated Josh's actual birthday at Grandmama's on Sunday, July 3, 2011.

Aidan is pretty excited about birthday parties :)

FOURTH OF JULY & OUR BIRTHDAYS
We celebrated the 4th of July at Josh's parent's lake house with my parents.  It was a lot of fun!

MISSION TRIP

Josh and I have been praying for a few years about going on a Mission Trip.  We've always wanted to go on one, and we are now in a place where we feel God is calling us to go and telling us we are ready.  We are leaving to go to Panama on July 8-16 to plant churches and spread the amazing news of JESUS CHRIST to the Panamanian people.  We are so excited about this!

We have a few needs.  The first need is PRAYER.  We desperately need people to pray for us.  Pray that our hearts and minds are prepared to share God's story.  Pray for our safety and our teams safety.  Pray that we allow God to work through us and show up in incredible ways.  Pray for our 2 boys who will be staying with Grandma & Grandpa and then Nana & Pappy (they'll need prayer too!).

Our second need is DONATIONS.  We desperately need help fundraising the $4600 required for us to go.  Please pray about donating to us.  We all know how strapped everyone is, but this is an investment for eternity.  This is for God's work.  Any amount is a major blessing and we are so grateful!

You can donate online by clicking on the link below and then clicking on the "CLICK HERE TO DONATE" button on the top right.  Or you can mail in a check to (please make it out to e3 Partners Ministry and put our names in the memo to ensure it gets to us):

Roman's First Haircut

I finally gave in.  I have a thing for long hair on boys (this might be why my hubby and my oldest son have long locks!), so I have a hard time with haircuts.  I held off for as long as I could with Roman, but I finally realized that he has been rockin' the mullet for a while now and it's not going to curl like Aidan's hair.  So we went today, May 23, 2011, for Roman's first haircut!
This is the famous baby mullet.  I personally think he rocked it :)
We go to Pigtails & Crewcuts for the boys' haircuts and it is such an awesome place.  Very kid friendly :)
Aidan's favorite color right now is pink....can you tell?

 Side view of the mullet

 Getting ready for his haircut!

 He did great...

Not fond of the bang trim, but we made sure that he wasn't getting the "Lloyd Christmas" haircut (Dumb & Dumber movie for the non-fans out there!:)
 Almost done!

Roman did awesome!  He's so big now.  He liked to drive the taxi cab while getting his haircut....while big brother Aidan played with trains!  We kept some of that blonde hair for his baby book :)
